Anyone who frequents watch forums will be familiar with Manchester Watch Works and Doug the founder, who is a true watch nerd, and builds watches simply for fun.
I started following MWW very late but didn’t buy any of their watches, till I saw the vintage inspired chrono and I couldn’t resist so I had to jump on it.
The project was funded on kickstarter, and Doug was sending out scheduled updates regularly, and also he was updating the forum threads regularly; it was one of the most pleasant watch projects I took part in.
The watch was delivered ahead of schedule; packaging was nice, and secured the watch but nothing to write home about.
The watch has a very unique barrel shaped case; very strong and bold lines.
The dial has three sub dials with a full chrono function and a running second hand; the version I chose was a panda with blue subdials, but there were 2 other versions; a panda with brown subdials and a third all grey version.
The dial is very well executed, with applied MWW logo, crisp printing and very thick lume application
The sapphire crystal is flat but sitting proudly on the case top; the lugs are nicely curved and drilled!
The signed crown and pushers are very well executed, and they really complement the case design.
The case back is simple but very elegant and flawless, no sharp edges at all with nice engraving
Didn’t I say lume!
The watch sits very nicely on the wrist; mainly because of the curved and short lugs’ design.
It has a 40mm diameter and 48mm lug to lug length.
This beauty is powered by a Swiss made Isaswiss 8371 Chronograph.
I highly recommend you have a look at MWW offerings!
